Guide for Hospital Doula Policy

The New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute (NJHCQI) along with HealthConnect One and the New Jersey Doula Learning Collaborative (NJDLC) partnered to develop a Hospital Best Practice Guide for Doula Services in an effort to create a better climate for advancing birth outcomes and equity for doulas and their clients, as well as hospitals, their clinicians, employees, and patients.
The Guide for Hospital Doula Policy was developed after a workgroup that consisted of health system and hospital representatives and doulas was formed. This workgroup addressed the challenges to doula access as well as clarification that was needed surrounding doula policies within New Jersey hospitals.
